Donington Park Testing

October 9, 2008

Today was the Official test day for the final round of the British Formula Ford Championship at Donington Park.  The first 30 minute session saw Rob and the rest of the drivers complete only 5 laps due to two separate red flag incidents where cars ended up in the wall.

The second of today’s sessions was much more constructive. With a new set of tyres Rob took his Van Diemen car out for a 12 lap run, and posted his best time of the day.  After a pit stop and a change of set-up Rob completed the rest of the session and took a further 7 tenths from his time.  “We’re fairly happy with that, we never got the best out of the tyres because our set-up was geared into the older tyres” he said.  “Now we’ve changed that so we should be quicker for qualifying on Saturday morning”.

Check back on Saturday for Qualifying and Race 1 reports.
